Blizzard Is Punishing Overwatch League Players - Boosting Banned In Korea | Akshon Recap

Blizzard has issued penalties to several Overwatch League players ahead of the 2019 OWL season for infractions ranging from account sales to boosting offenses.

Apply from the Florida Mayhem, the Boston Uprising’s Colourhex, and Violet from the San Francisco Shock were all given a two-game suspension for account boosting. As for Hangzhou Spark’s Krystal who committed a similar violation, he was only given a 1 game suspension. The rationale behind the differences in severity of the punishments was not stated, but one can only assume that it was based on the extent of the account boosting.

As for the other three players receiving punishments, the Gladiators’ new addition, Ripa, has been issued a five-game suspension for throwing matches and toxicity. Next, the Guangzhou Charge’s Rise, while not given a suspension, was issued a fine of $1000 for account sharing. Lastly, the Toronto Defiant Support player Neko faces disciplinary action in the form of a three-game suspension for selling an account and obstructing league office investigation.

Commercial boosting of accounts is now banned in South Korea
