Why Is Rocket League NOT a Tier 1 Esport?

Rocket League is generally not considered a “Tier 1” esports title…at least not yet.
From having a low barrier of entry while maintaining a high skill ceiling in addition to having one of the most spectator-friendly viewing experiences, by all accounts Rocket League has the makings of a great esport.
However, despite all the things Rocket League has going for itself as a competitive title, it has yet to reach “Tier 1” status and rank among the titans of the industry, CS:GO, League of Legends, and Dota 2.
